VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
Hybrids are found in abundance such as lavandin.  These are NOT the species that should be chosen for health care use.  These hybrids contain camphor as the main constituent and yield ten times the volume of essential oil as compared to true lavender.  Therefore the application of lavandin on a burn would only worsen an already traumatic situation.  Several individuals have used an over the counter lavender oil on burns with extremely negative reactions to their injuries.  True lavender essential oil (Lavandula agustifolia) has a medicinal detergent-like smell, although it contains little or no camphor.  Hybrids have a distinguishable sweet floral odor.

Lemon:

v For Acidosis: Both Lemon and Peppermint reduce the acidic pH of the intestinal tract.

v For Blood Detoxification:  Lemon essential oil is a natural cleansing agent and increases oxygen flow.  Lemon promotes white blood cell formation.

v For Bronchitis:  Lemon, especially with a drop of lavender, can relax cough spasms and help remove mucus.  Make a tea with honey and sip slowly.

v For Cleaning:  The perfect antiseptic for wiping countertops, desks, etc.  It works extremely well in removing gum, wood stain, oil and grease spots.  Can be added to rinse cycle of wash.  When diffused it makes an excellent air disinfectant.

v    For Cooking:  Excellent added to any dish or dessert.

v For Immune System:  Lemon’s antiseptic and antiviral properties support the immune function.  According to Jean Valnet, M.D., diffused lemon kills meningococcus bacteria in 15 minutes, typhoid bacilli in one hour, Staphylococcus aureus in two hours, and Pneumococcus bacteria within three hours.

v   For Skin Care:  Lemon oil has been widely used to cleanse skin and reduce wrinkles.  It brightens a dull complexion by removing dead skin cells.

v  For Travel Companion:  Lemon has been used to fight food poisoning, malaria and typhoid epidemics, and scurvy.

v   For Water Purification:  One drop of Lemon essential oil per 8 ounces of water makes Lemon a perfect travel companion.
